“OK, so now the Gartner group has started bashing Linux? Oh
well, I guess that means it will be a success. The general tone of
all Gartner reports is “You can only survive by using Microsoft
products”. I am personally unsurprised that Gartner is now
swinging its axe in the direction of Linux, after all it reminds me
of another of their fabled reports from a couple of years
back.

“Back then, Apple had just handed out Rhapsody DR1 (or DR2, I
can’t quite remember) at WWDC and work was starting to gear up on
the new OS. Then Gartner, in their infinite wisdom published a
report stating that Apple would “never” ship Rhapsody, the title:
“Rhapsody: Another Unfinished Symphony for Apple?.”
