“I would like to tell a story of a recent event, which occurred
with some Microsoft representatives. As a software developer I
often receive calls from a number of computer suppliers and related
peripheral companies. These companies buy contact lists of
developers of hardware resellers and try to develop business, cold
calling their leads. One day I received a call from a Microsoft
representative who asked if my company was using Windows NT. The
conversation went something like this:”

“MS: Hello this is John Doe, (not his real name), of Microsoft
and I would like to ask you a few questions concerning our
products. Are you familiar with any Microsoft products?”

“Me: Yes, as a matter of fact we are familiar with your products
and currently out company policy is not to use any Microsoft
product in our enterprise solutions.”
