“Like a mortician who enjoys his job too much, I find myself
grubbing around in the decomposing entrails of this much-debated
subject. In fact, I really would rather be doing something else.
Almost anything else. But here I am.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m heading Yet Another Internet Project, membership
already 20 and counting, and we are currently at the stage of
debating the licence under which we will release the software we
produce, and it’s all a bit awkward. It’s roughly analogous to the
point where two lovers get to meet each other’s parents.
The
misty illusion is suddenly broken, and hard reality comes to pay a
call.”
