I prefer Linux to NT, at least for a large number of their
comparative functions.
Why? Is Linux easier to administer than
NT? Sometimes yes, mostly no. Is it more stable? Yes, although I’ve
been able to build NT servers that literally went years without a
reboot. Does it perform better? Sure, if you can get the right
drivers…”

“I see Linux making inroads on three segments: It will become
the Internet server of choice for small to medium sized businesses,
and will make incredible inroads into the desktop due to breakneck
increases in functionality and ease of use. Lastly, it will make
robust set-top boxes and very low-end PCs a reality.”
