“But Torvalds takes his time approving new versions and changes
to Linux, and he doesn’t tout the latest developments. “I’m happy
to say I still consider the old [2.1] version to be completely
usable, and I’m happy that a lot of people won’t upgrade because
there is no value in their doing so,” says Torvalds. (Changes to
Linux continually float around the Internet, but version 2.2,
released last month, replaces the last major update of two years
ago.)”
