“Continuing to enhance its support of the Open Source software
movement, SCO (Nasdaq: SCOC) today announced the availability of a
new Open License Software Supplement (OLSS), formerly known as SCO
Skunkware. Designed to provide SCO customers with the latest Open
Source software, the new release of this popular supplement is free
and contains an extensive set of freely licensed software. It is
packaged on a single CD-ROM for all UnixWare 7 releases, including
UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.”

“For years, Skunkware has offered popular free tools and
utilities for use on SCO platforms,” said Greg Schwarzer, Director
of SMB and ISV Marketing. “The new OLSS from SCO expands on what
we’ve been delivering with Skunkware. We believe many developers
and administrators will benefit from being able to use these tools
to customize and tune their UnixWare 7 servers.”

“The OLSS includes open source code for over 180 applications of
over 800 MB of installed software. One such component is Lxrun —
the binary and source of the UnixWare 7 technology, which enables
execution of Linux applications, including WordPerfect, StarOffice,
Adobe Acrobat Reader, and many others.”
