“Continuing its aggressive drive to bring Linux® solutions
to the enterprise, SGI (NYSE: SGI – news) today announced the
immediate availability of its new Intel® processor-based SGI
1400L server. Preloaded with the SGI(TM) Linux® Environment
with Red Hat® Linux® 6.0, the SGI 1400L server offers
customers a reliable and cost-effective platform for database
serving, file sharing, technical computing and Web serving. The SGI
1400L server is one of two products in the new SGI(TM) 1000 server
family also announced today.”

SGI’s expertise in high-performance, scalable servers with the
reduced cost and high reliability that is provided by an open

Xeon(TM) processors with a selection of 512KB, 1MB or 2MB of
secondary cache, up to 4GB of memory, seven PCI slots, six Ultra2
SCSI hot swap drive bays and redundant power supplies. SGI 1400L is
available in rack-mount or deskside configurations.”
