“VA Linux Systems and Linux.com Maintain Growth Consistent With
Increasing Popularity of the Linux Open Source-Based Operating
System”

“VA Linux Systems (VA), the leading provider of Linux-based
hardware, software, service and Internet solutions, today announced
that sales for the second quarter of this year were up 220% over
the previous quarter, exceeding the 212% growth rate for Linux
published by industry analyst firm International Data Corporation.
The company also announced the opening of ten North American
offices.”

“Growth at VA is consistent with the increased popularity of
Linux, and the company also reported that it shipped more products
in July 1999 than it had in all of Q2 ’99. VA Linux Systems also
manages the increasingly popular Linux.com website, which is widely
regarded as the premier Linux Internet site. Linux.com is currently
receiving more than 400,000 page views per day. The site is
administered by more than 135 members of the open source community
who contribute content and manage editorial functions.”

“To maintain its strong growth, VA today announced that it has
opened offices in numerous North American cities, including New
York, Toronto, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Irvine/Los
Angeles, Orlando, Virginia, and Wilmington, North Carolina.”
