PR: SuSE Linux Releases Three New Products

Today, SuSE Linux announced the release of an updated version of
the SuSE Linux Groupware Server as well as the immediate release of
the SuSE Linux Pro-Office CD. The release date for SuSE Linux eMail
Server 3.1 was also previewed to be in early July.

According to SuSE, the interweaving of the Linux operating
system with the newly released Lotus Application Server 5.0.10
makes the SuSE Linux Groupware Server a powerful Lotus solution for
Intel and AMD 32-bit processors.

The SuSE Linux Groupware Server combines the stability and
security of the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server operating system with
the comprehensive functionality of Lotus Domino, the world’s most
widely used messaging and web application server. Boasting upwards
of 85 million Notes users, Lotus is undisputedly number one when it
comes to the groupware and messaging market. For more details on

The company also announced the immedate release of the SuSE
Linux Pro-Office CD.

The Pro-Office CD features the latest version of Sun
Microsystems’ StarOffice, the newest edition of the ultimate
desktop environment KDE 3.0.1, as well as important patches for the
SuSE Linux 8.0 operating system.

SuSE Linux Pro-Office is available now, at SuSE’s web shop
store.suse.com for US
$24.95.

Finally, SuSE announced the upcoming availability of the third
generation of the SuSE Linux eMail Server with expanded system
functionalities. The product is scheduled to be released in early
July.

SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 offers the following new features
for professional users:

  • Appointment synchronizing with Microsoft Outlook
  • Expanded user data administration
  • Web-based utilization monitoring

The recommended retail price for one server is US $999,
including extensive documentation, 30 days of product support, and
12 months of SuSE Linux system maintenance. Users of SuSE Linux
eMail Server 3 can access the improvements at the
password-protected Internet area (SuSE Linux Maintenance Web)
within the scope of the system maintenance.
