“Axis Communications announced today the availability of
integrated systems-on-a-chip and embedded Linux solutions to
original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These solutions will
allow developers to rapidly prototype new product concepts and
reduce the overall design effort for developing network peripherals
and emerging mobile devices.
To assist OEMs, a new Technology
Division has been formed to provide engineering resources,
technical support and development tools, including reference
designs, evaluation boards, source code, documentation and
technical support.”

“Axis has a rich history as an OEM provider, with many leading
companies expressing tremendous interest in our core technologies
for their own product development,” said Peter Ragnarsson, Axis
Communications president and CEO. “We will equip these OEMs with
significant time-to-market advantages, by providing innovative
solutions based on our expertise in integrating systems- on-a-chip
technology and open-source embedded software.”

“Ragnarsson, who was appointed president and CEO last month, is
positioning Axis to expand on its global leadership in network
connectivity and be a trailblazer in the emerging wireless and
mobile communications markets. Earlier this year, Axis formed their
Mobile Internet Division to develop and market products and
services that take advantage of new technologies, such as Bluetooth
wireless technology. These offerings will address the needs of a
wide range of participants in the value chain, including end users,
ISP’s, telcos and major communications infrastructure players.”
