“Brooktrout Technology, a leading provider of innovative
hardware and software platforms that enable applications for the
New Network, today announced expanded Linux support across its
broad range of award-winning products. Developers who have chosen
Linux as their platform for building New Network applications such
as IP telephony, unified messaging, voice portals, web-IVR,
enhanced call services and switching, now have the option of
developing on Brooktrout Technology’s platforms including the
Vantage Series, RDSP Series, RTNI Series, TRxStream Series and
Netaccess Series product families….”

“As the use of Linux has spread so rapidly in the running of web
servers and embedded devices, there is a huge demand for its use in
computer telephony products,” said Colin Tenwick, vice president,
Red Hat Europe, Middle East and Africa. “As the leader in the
worldwide Linux market, Red Hat is delighted that Brooktrout
Technology is supplying the open source community with a broad
range of Linux-supported CTI products.”

“Linux is an ideal operating system for voice processing
platforms,” said Dan Bennett, director of product engineering, Oak
Tree Communications. “The Linux open source operating system
allows developers to lop off the parts they don’t want and use only
those that they do. Linux’ small footprint and affordability on
Brooktrout’s voice platforms will open new market segments for our
unified messaging products.
