“NARUS, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of Internet
Business Infrastructure (IBI) solutions, today announced
availability of wire speed NARUS Analyzer capability for Optical
Networks at OC-12 (1.2 Gbps) data rates using the Intel
Corporation’s Intel(R) GigaBlade(TM) accelerator. The two
companies have completed tests at each of their facilities,
demonstrating NARUS Analyzers, using the Intel GigaBlade
accelerators on Intel server architecture using the Linux operating
system collecting usage data at speeds exceeding 1.2 Gbps with no
packet loss.”

“This capability underscores the fact that NARUS IBI solutions
— which provide detailed network and customer usage information to
key service provider business applications including customer care
and billing, customer retention, fraud detection and many others —
have the carrier-grade scalability required by IP service
providers. The Yankee Group forecasts the IBI marketplace to grow
to $7.6 billion in 2004 based on burgeoning demand for
differentiated services by IPSPs.”

“The tests were conducted using Intel GigaBlade accelerators in
a NARUS Analyzer platform with a 450MHz Intel(R) Pentium(R) II
processor, a standard PCI bus, and the Linux operating system.”
