“KeyLink(SM) Systems, a Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Inc.
company… , today announced it has signed an agreement and will
become one of the first value-added distributors to offer the Red
Hat… Linux operating system. Red Hat is looking to expand its
customer base to include both small- to medium-sized and enterprise
businesses, and KeyLink Systems offers a substantial North American
customer base to fulfill Red Hat’s needs.

“Major vendors, such as Compaq Computer Corporation, IBM, Intel
and Oracle, have endorsed the open-source operating system offered
by Red Hat. Compaq’s AlphaServer and IBM’s Netfinity line of
servers are Linux-ready, meaning a value-added distribution partner
like KeyLink Systems can offer complete solutions to its more than
4,500 reseller partners.”

“KeyLink Systems is focused on offering value-added services to
its customers and this is evident in Red Hat’s decision to make us
one of the first direct distributors of its Linux operating
system,” said Bob Bailey, senior vice president, Pioneer’s Computer
Systems Division. “We’re investing in our relationship with Red Hat
by bolstering our technical support staff, integration
capabilities, and sales focus to accommodate the anticipated
demand.”
