“Lineo, Inc., a provider of embedded systems, real-time and high
availability Linux-based solutions, today announced the expansion
of the professional services group to provide solutions for
embedded OEM developers. The enhanced professional services
division provides OEMs with the assistance necessary to
successfully bring embedded products to market sooner, such as:
solution design assistance, porting of legacy RTOS applications,
developing board support packages, driver development and kernel
customization.
This group’s new responsibilities also include
Lineo Embedded Linux Consulting services and Lineo Design
Labs.”

“Lineo Professional Services adds tremendous value for OEMs
developing embedded devices,” said Pradyumna Sant, segment
marketing manager for Hitachi, a Lineo partner. “We feel that a
valuable component of Hitachi’s future is the engineering expertise
Lineo provides because it allows quicker time-to-market which is
necessary for success in the embedded market.”

“The window of opportunity is smaller than ever for device
manufacturers to be the first to market with a new idea,” said
Nathan Hatch, senior VP and general manager of the professional
services group at Lineo, Inc. “By providing premier custom
engineering assistance, Lineo makes sure that OEMs are able to get
their devices to the market ahead of their competitors at the
