“Lineo…announced that Arriba!(TM), Viosoft’s Integrated
Development Environment (IDE), will ship as part of the Lineo
Embedix(TM) SDK, an embedded Linux(R) development kit. Under
contract from Lineo, Viosoft is porting Arriba! for use with
Embedix — Lineo’s embedded version of Linux. A run time version of
the Embedix operating system is currently being tested in a broad
range of Internet-aware devices and appliances.
The
comprehensive Embedix SDK, including the Embedix version of
Arriba!, is scheduled to ship April 2000.”

“Lineo’s embedded Linux system software development is far ahead
of any known competition,” said Bryan Sparks, CEO of Lineo, Inc.
“Aggressive software development by Lineo’s engineers, coupled with
the work of partners, like Viosoft, is producing an embedded Linux
development environment that is competitive to existing market
leaders of embedded system software.”

“Viosoft Director of Business Development, Karl Blum, added,
“Viosoft’s version of Arriba! for Embedix will provide OEM
developers with a comprehensive integrated development environment
for producing Linux-based embedded system software.”
