“Linux is the world’s fastest-growing open-source operating
system,” said Ted Root, vice president of Channel Services for
Sylvan Prometric, the global leader in delivery of IT certification
testing, “and Sair is a leader in Linux training. Sylvan expects
Sair’s new Linux certification program to become very popular very
quickly, and as candidates are trained, our Authorized
Prometric(TM) Testing Centers (APTCs) will be ready to administer
their tests.”

“Sair’s Linux Certification will be offered in four levels, each
consisting of four tests. The first training class is scheduled to
begin May 11 at the New Orleans franchise of New Horizons Computer
Learning Centers, Inc. Certification testing will initially be
available domestically, with an international program to
follow.”

“Dr. P. Tobin Maginnis, … of … Sair, extolled the virtues of
Linux, saying it “offers unique advantages unmatched by other
commercial operations systems. It is stable, configurable,
flexible, and customizable, allowing corporate users total control
overall system configuration and upgrades. Using Linux, one trained
programmer can quickly provide system solutions that would
ordinarily require teams of programmers working for months.”
