“Wave Technologies International… a global leader in IT
certification training and development, continued to strengthen its
commitment to Linux certification and the Linux Professional
Institute through a series of actions announced today.

Wave joins the growing list of industry-leading
organizations
— including Caldera Systems, Red Hat Software,
SuSE and IBM, among others — who have announced their support
of LPI and their efforts for a high-quality, vendor-neutral
certification for
the Linux operating system. Wave
announced a $25,000 contribution to LPI to become a Gold Charter
member of the organization. Sponsorship allows LPI to aggressively
pursue and develop Linux certification.

According to LPI, certification is an exam-based system and will
be available at three levels, starting with Level 1 representing a
basic level of certification. Each level builds upon the next and
covers general Linux, distribution-specific Linux, advanced
administration and Linux internals and specializations.”
