Program Notes for Linux Today

The week of January 20 will be one of the more interesting
scheduling challanges for the editorial staff at Linux Today,
thanks mostly to the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo that will run
from January 22-24 in Manhattan.

LWE is an event that gets significant coverage by our site and
this year is no exception. Thanks to the combined efforts of Linux
Today and internetnews.com, no less than six reporters from our
staffs are scheduled to be at this event (though it may be five, as
one of the crew is a proud new father as of just this
afternoon!).

Traveling and managing Linux Today while on the road is always a
bit of an adventure, so after Tuesday, articles may be posted off
the regular schedule. Talkbacks will be monitored thanks to the
efforts of Contributing Editor Rob Reilly, so I expect no delays
there.

Before that event, however, Linux Today will shut down
the regular newsfeed in honor of the U.S. holiday Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day. Readers will only note a slight change, however. The
Community Roundup will start Monday at 0500 GMT (midnight, EST) and
continue through the day on Monday. Monday evening will see more
scheduled stories, which will carriy through until early
Tuesday.

Over and above the scheduled feed, it is recognized that many
pre-show stories will be coming out on Monday, despite the U.S.
holiday, so I expect that many “live” stories will be interspersed
with the Community Roundup feed throughout the day.

While we are away at the conference, we hope to be gathering and
reporting as much news as we can. Of course, the contributions of
our readers is always appreciated. On a personal note, I hope to
meet many of you at this event, and discuss all things Linux and
Open Source.

Have a good weekend, and we’ll see some of you next week!
