“Now, at the very least, Tux500 qualifies as associating the
name of Linux with ‘borderline behavior.’ We have the forum spam,
the threats, the website rigging, and more. It could be possible
that it’s flat-out unacceptable as well.

“Since individual users of the Linux operating system are being
made to feel that they “must pay” to show their support of Linux,
users may be confused as to who is behind the effort. Certainly,
the majority of messages posted to websites asking for donations
have failed to disclose that they are authored by those who would
be on the receiving end of those donations…”

“One hundred and seven emails were actionable questions or
comments concerning the Tux500 project. Those questions or comments
were broken down into catagory and because they address important
matters in the community, I have decided that some of them need
answered sooner than I can physically get to them individually.
Herein, I will address them by category. This should bear out to be
interesting to those with even a mild interest in Tux500. I am sure
these questions/issues are going to come up again soon. Many
individual questions will be answered within these responses.
Trying to answer them question by question resulted in a complete
re-write of this article. The present format is the easiest to
follow and the gentlest on my carpal Tunnel…”
