Bryan Andregg wrote (on the Red Hat announce mailing list):

The Red Hat Inc, IT staff is pleased to announce the rebirth of
ftp.redhat.com. With two servers on distint networks, soon to be
three, Red Hat is now able to offer double the anonymous bandwidth
than before.

The new site supercedes the old hostnaming structure with the
single name ftp.redhat.com

  • updates.redhat.com –>
    ftp://ftp.redhat.com/redhat/updates/
  • contrib.redhat.com –> ftp://ftp.redhat.com/contrib/
  • rawhide.redhat.com –> ftp://ftp.redhat.com/rawhide/
  • ftp.labs.redhat.com –> ftp://ftp.redhat.com/rhad-labs/

We hope that you sincerely enjoy the new service level that we
are bringing to you.

As always, please address comments to
<ftp@redhat.com>.
