Oldest Linux Trade Show Ready to Celebrate Linux Development and

Chapel Hill, NC– March 17, 1999– Representatives from Linux
Expo announced today that Red Hat Software Chairman and CEO Bob
Young will give the Kick Off Keynote at the 1999 Expo. Bob Young
joins Technical Keynote, Jim Gettys, senior consulting engineer at
Compaq Computer Corporation and one of the original authors of the
X Window System.
Linux Expo is a technical conference geared toward the
development community that spawned the scalable, multi-tasking
Linux OS. For five days, May 18-22, Linux Expo ’99 will feature all
of the latest developments in Linux technology, as well as key
Linux developers. The Expo will be held at the Raleigh Convention
and Conference Center Complex in downtown Raleigh, NC.
“Linux Expo is definitely a technical show that draws top-notch
Linux developers from around the world,” said Red Hat’s Bob Young.
“Given the tremendous momentum of the Linux OS, we expect this
year’s Expo crowd to exceed last year’s total.”
In its fifth year of existence, Linux Expo ’99 begins with a day
of tutorials, followed by three days of conferences, exhibits,
product launches, and industry experts. The Expo also features both
Technical and Business tracks led by Linux leaders and
innovators.
Linux companies S.u.S.E, VA Research, Red Hat Software, IBM,
Silicon Graphics, Linux Hardware Solutions, Ki Networks, Sun
Microsystems, InterBase Software, plus many others are exhibiting
at the show.
