“Software giant Microsoft Corp. said on Monday it settled an
antitrust suit brought against it by Caldera Inc., ending a
three-year legal battle.
“Although the terms of the settlement were confidential,
Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft said it would take a one-time charge
against earnings of 3 cents a share in its quarter ending March
31.”
“Caldera, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, filed the suit in
July 1996 seeking more than $1 billion in damages.”
