“On the commercial side, the server side, Linux companies such
as Red Hat and Novell have 25 percent of the back-office market.
Companies such as Google run on Linux. That’s starting to trickle
down to the desktop. It’s starting to gain traction. The best
numbers I’ve seen put Linux at about 2 percent of the desktop
market, but who knows how many free downloads there have been? It’s
a tricky number to get your hands around…”
