“SeamlessRDP promises to integrate your remote Windows
desktop seamlessly into you Linux environment. This article show
you how to set it up, and also shows you some of its limitations.

“Making the jump from Windows to Linux is rarely done in a
single step. While there is quite often an open source alternative
to Windows applications, these tend not to be “drop in”
replacements, and will require some time and training during the
switch. Projects like Wine can provide a solution here, but not all
of you applications will work as well under Wine as they used to
under Windows.

“The best way to get your Windows application working in a Linux
environment is to actually run Windows. This can be done in a
virtual environment, like VirtualBox, or on a second PC. Which ever
way you go, you can still view and interact with those applications
running within Windows from your Linux desktop using a remote
desktop client like rdesktop.”
