SearchEnterpriseLinux: Neoware powers, secures Linux appliances

“Neoware Systems Inc. wants to help manage appliances. Computing
appliances, Neoware says, offer a less expensive and faster way to
get the same functionality as a personal computer without having to
be a technical genius to learn how to operate them. In fact,
Neoware hopes its graphical user interfaces will make it so anyone
can use Linux in its devices, even if that person’s entire Linux
reading library consists only of Linux for Dummies. Mike
Kantrowitz, president and chief executive officer of Neoware in
King of Prussia, Pa., accredits Linux with helping his business
grow and emphasizes how Neoware’s products bring the wonders of
information appliances to users with varying degrees of technical
know-how.

searchEnterpriseLinux: How is Linux helping
drive your company’s growth?”

Kantrowitz: Figures from the last six months
show our sales are up close to 40 % from the prior year. Linux is
an amazing contributor to our growth. We’re seeing a great deal of
demand for Linux in enterprises because it’s so stable, it’s so
scalable and reliable, and I think it’s really crossed the bridge
and is being deployed in large numbers in enterprises. We’re seeing
demand for it in the market.”
