“David Moore will be releasing a new version of AUC soon,
possibly this month.
… The major additions will be web-based
site configuration, fewer assumptions about the environment (making
it easier to use in non-US schools), different methods of course
assignment, an enhanced plugin API, and a more open development
model.”

“Michelle Head published yet another article on a school
using Linux for both server and desktop functions.
Thanks,
Michelle, for finding these applications of Linux and publicizing
them!”

“Rik Hoekstra has just released his Zope-Edu Course
Framework, a first shot at a generalized framework for web courses
in Zope.
Tim Wilson tells us that it allows you to create a
framework with which teachers can create Web pages for their
courses, post assignments, etc.”
