“The Webalizer (www.webalizer.com) is a logfile
analysis program written by Bradfor L. Barrett (www.mrunix.com)
that writes its output in html form, viewable with a web
browser.”
“Its version 2 release is very robust and includes many new
features over version 1. It can, of course, read apache
transfer logs but it can now read wu-ftpd and squid logs as well.
It creates graph images on-the-fly, and it’s very fast.”
“I’ve been using this program for over a year, and I expect I’ll
continue to use it in the future not only because I find it easy to
use and configure, but because my users find it easy to use. Users
like the graphical display and have an easy time navigating the
generated pages. Other free logfile analysis programs such as
Analog (www.analog.cx) work very well too, but are very definitely
geared towards the systems administrator with output that can often
confuse a user.”
