computers, streamlining inventory management and boosting profits.

behind schedule: the rollout of OS X, an updated operating system
that Apple promises will set the standard for consumer PC stability
and bring Apple’s reputation for ease of use into the new
millennium.”

“Indeed, OS X is late, even for the notoriously tardy software
industry. Apple first promised what has become OS X in 1995.
Eventually, it was pushed back to January 2000, then late summer,
and now early next year.”
