Linux leader reaches out to emerging service
providers.

“Linux power Red Hat wants to be your buddy, your pal and your
partner. The company’s new Red Hat Certified Service Provider
Program (RHCSP; yup, it’s a mouthful) offers specialized consulting
and co-marketing programs, as well as technology and support
services for ASP, ISPs, Web hosts, and other types of service
providers.”

“The program, offers 24 x 7 critical status support, backup
systems administration, maximum server availability and systems
management to service providers. The program also includes on-site
consulting, beta program access, and high-end, “level 3″
engineering support and bug fixes….”

“Red Hat’s service-provider partnering plans aren’t pie in the
sky. Early allies include Dell Computer’s ISP division, known as
DellHost; Interland; Interliant; and NewRiverNet Communications. By
the end of the year, Red Hat believes it will have about
half-a-dozen more partners.”
