The announcement follows the recent news of Solus becoming a rolling release operating system, which means that there’s no need for the development team to maintain a release schedule for future ISO refreshes, nor to plan and set specific dates for upcoming point or major releases of the Linux distro. Of course, this change won’t affect anyone, as Solus users will always run the latest version of the Linux kernel-based OS on their personal computers, but they should be aware of a few things, such as the fact that the version number of Solus ISOs will change from the standard 1.2 or 2.0 to an internal versioning system.
