LinuxUser.co.za
has announced a new site that aims to bring the vast amount of
information available for Linux into context for the South African
user.
As a result of extensive research we have designed a
site that will address this issue, focusing on Linux in South
Africa and in other Southern African countries.

We will be bringing Linux news, information and services to
South African users at all levels, from beginner to expert; from
SOHO to the home user, through all levels of education and
government, as well as in the enterprise, and industry. Among our
primary goals we wish to become a centre of Linux information in
South Africa.

To achieve our goal we also announce that Linux
consultants
in South Africa will now be able to list themselves
for free on our site. This provides a central place to locate and
select a Linux consultant that suits your budget in your city that
can install and maintain your Linux systems.

The site will also list information such as where Linux software
can be obtained in South Africa as well as Linux friendly PC
retailers that will ship machines with Linux pre-installed. We will
also provide a list of Linux training companies.

For fun we also announce the Daily LinuxUser
Quiz
. This quiz will provide new quiz questions on a regular
basis that will be a fun way to test your Linux knowledge. With
this you will be able to compare your ranking with other Linux
users in the Hall of Fame, and more than likely also learn new and
useful information about Linux.”
