“Caldera Systems, a leading Linux distributor, will announce its
IPO this week. Also, the company has secured $30 million in
additional funding.”

“The company has not yet filed its IPO documentation with the
SEC so exact details such as who is underwriting the IPO, the
number of shares to be offered and estimated price are still
unclear. It is believed, but not confirmed, that Caldera will
be offering “friends and family” stock options to bona fide Linux
developers. The stock price is expected to be set in the $20 range.
That puts it in the same actual opening day ballpark as its
competitors.
