“Taking a page from LinuxCare, Covalent Technologies next week
will roll out a bevy of Apache support packages designed to help
corporations deploy the open-source Web server.”

“Covalent’s offerings, which range from $150-per-hour phone
support to $60,000-per-year, 24 x 7 premier support, are slated for
general availability on Oct. 25. Targeted at corporate customers
and Internet service providers, Covalent is betting that businesses
will require Apache assistance, beyond what is available via Net
newsgroups…”

Just as Linux has had to creep in the back door in most
businesses, Covalent expects the same to be true for Apache. That
is, until now: Covalent hopes that it’s support effort pushes
Apache in the front door of big companies.
