“Could a SCO Linux distribution and more open-sourced SCO
products be in the works?”

“In a test of the open source waters, Unix vendor SCO is
offering its enterprise consulting services to customers interested
in evaluating and managing the cost, benefits and risks of open
source software.”

“SCO claims it has the largest staff of open source experts of
any commercial software vendor. The company’s newly formed Linux
and Open Source Professional Service team will consist of a group
of about 40 core consulting staff, and will provide Linux audit and
open source deployment planning services. The group will draw
additional support from SCO’s custom engineering and telephone tech
support personnel.
