Expands channel for commercial versions of open-source
product.

“Sendmail Inc. is expanding its channel effort to promote the
commercial versions of the company’s popular open-source mail
server software.”

“The company announced Monday a number of new distributor and
reseller relationships including a pact with Merisel Inc.’s Merisel
Open Computing Alliance. Sendmail’s goal is to upgrade the
multitude of corporate users of the company’s open-source mail
transfer agent to commercial versions. Sendmail estimates that by
the end of 2000 there will be about 900,000 copies of Sendmail
running in commercial environments.”
