Oakland, Calif. – 08/28/2001 After three years
in the management team of SuSE Linux, Dirk Hohndel announced his
decision to leave the company. His years of excellent service and
vision in helping guide SuSE to its present successful position are
unparalleled within the industry. Dirk steps away from SuSE to
pursue his personal and professional interests.
Dirk became involved with Linux in the early beginnings of the
operating system and soon focused on the XFree86 project. In
addition to his work at SuSE, he leaves a recognized mark of
contribution to the development of Linux and the Open Source
computing. His departure from SuSE comes at a time when SuSE
gathers its forces and resources to strengthen SuSE as a business
positioning itself to lead the world towards what is the most
powerful and acknowledged alternative to the dominance of one
proprietary operating system.
Stationed in the US, Holger Dyroff, Director of Sales, continues
to be the main US spokesperson and representative for SuSE Linux in
the US.
