SuSE has announced that the
newest version of their distribution, SuSE Linux 7.1, will ship on
February 12th. The new release will include Linux kernel 2.4.
Other features of the release will include glibc 2.2 and KDE
2.0.1. As with their last release, SuSE will be made available in
two editions: “Personal” and “Professional.”
Beginning February 8, SuSE Linux 7.1 for Intel CPUs will be
available directly from the manufacturer or from bookstores and
software retailers. The recommended price for SuSE Linux 7.1
Personal (3 CDs, 3 manuals, 60 days of installation support) is US
$ 29.95; SuSE Linux 7.1 Professional (7 CDs, 1 DVD, 4 manuals, 90
days of installation support is $ 69.95 US.
