SuSE Announces Corporate Support and Training Program for Linux
– Includes Strategic Partnerships with LinuxCare and Muster
Learning Architects –

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA–(Business Wire)–Nov. 17, 1998–SuSE, Inc.
today announced the launch of the SuSE Linux Corporate Support
Program, scheduled to begin in North America in early 1999.

SuSE has offered support and service contracts in Europe since
1995, and is now bringing its corporate support program to North
America.

SuSE will offer a two-tiered support program, featuring SuSE
Linux Premium Support–SuSE’s in-house corporate tech support
program–and SuSE Linux Partner Support through third-party
organizations. SuSE is currently working with a number of leading
Linux support organizations, such as LinuxCare, based in San
Francisco, California.

“We have received numerous requests from companies in need of
customized Linux support,” said Scott McNeil, president of SuSE,
Inc. “For SuSE North America, this means that the installation
support we currently offer end users will soon be supplemented by
24 x 7 tech support and service contracts for businesses. We are
also excited to be partnering with companies such as LinuxCare that
are already providing Linux support to businesses, government
organizations, and schools in the US.”

“Our customers have been extremely pleased with SuSE Linux,”
said Arthur Tyde, CEO of LinuxCare. “SuSE is making great strides
in providing enterprise-class support in North America. We look
forward to working closely with SuSE to help organizations run
their mission-critical systems on Linux.”

In addition, SuSE will be offering corporate training programs
on Linux through Muster Learning Architects (MLA) in Berkeley,
California. MLA is headed by John Muster, author of the
best-selling UNIX Made Easy, who has taught his well-known UNIX
courses since 1980.

Roland Dyroff, co-founder of SuSE GmbH, stated, “In Europe, SuSE
has had considerable experience and success in offering Linux
consulting services, technical support, and training to businesses.
We are very pleased that our North American headquarters in Oakland
will soon be launching a similar program in the US.”

Representatives of both SuSE, Inc. and SuSE GmbH will be present
at the SuSE exhibit (S-7639) in the Comdex Las Vegas Linux
Pavilion.
