“Linux is becoming the OS of choice in much of Africa, where a
copy of Microsoft (stock: MSFT) Windows costs about five months’
salary… and Microsoft’s Office suite costs around $800 — more
than three times Africa’s average per-capita income of $250.
Some observers caution that the adoption of Linux could lead to
the digital divide that has been forming in developed
economies.
