While financial facts about the investment in Linux have not
been disclosed, how would you describe it in non-financial
terms?
The money has much less to do with the value of this deal to Red
Hat and to Linux than [it does with] the partnership with firms of
this caliber. It proves to other open-source-code development
companies that venture capitalists are interested in investing in
the open-source software-development model.
