At Digital Equipment User’s Society shows in Paris last week and
Los Angeles the week before, Compaq told attendees it plans to
extend Linux support to both the Intel and Alpha platforms.

Compaq is also putting together a program to support Linux.

“All we want to do is enable the Linux community to provide
Linux support and enhancements on Compaq platforms better than any
other platform on the market,” said Don Jenkins, director of
product management and marketing for Unix platforms at Compaq.
