“To deliver a Linux solution, Global Services will look to
partner with the most qualified Linux consultants in a particular
region, said Katalin Walcott, Linux Services Development executive.
A “motley of different people” will tackle Linux deployments, she
said. “It will be an integrated team.”

“The number of Global Services consultants IBM identifies as
Linux experts is not large. Within its pool of 1,800 Unix

300 worldwide, Walcott said. IBM partnered with Caldera System, Red

“Global Services’ Linux offerings include planning,
implementation, network design, Web-server deployment services, and
database and cluster deployment.”
