“Linux has made great strides in penetrating the corporate
market. But a big stumbling block is the lack of training and
certification programs for Linux professionals, especially for
system and network administrators.”

“That’s about to change. Linux training/certification centers
are springing up around the country. Red Hat Software in North
Carolina and Caldera Software in Utah offer courses at their
facilities.”

“While Red Hat also has its own certification program, there’s
no standardized Linux certification program. “There’s a race to get
vendor-neutral Linux certification going,” says Martin Thisner,
marketing director of Fremont-based Unitek Information
Systems.”
