the potential threat Linux presents.”

“‘Microsoft intends to move forward with a single operating
system strategy and intends to put a version of Windows 2000
everywhere,’ said James. ‘As far as Linux goes, Microsoft seems to
see it as little more than noise on the desktop.'”

“Yet, James says it’s a different story when it comes to the
server. Linux has the reputation of being a robust and stable
platform for server applications, and this may present a
