“Low-cost network computing specialist Devon IT has added a
PCMCIA slot and ‘3G aircard’ support to its thin client notebook.
Available with the company’s own Linux-based ‘DeTOS’ embedded
operating system, the SafeBook runs applications from remote
servers, via Citrix ICA, Microsoft RDP, or VNC.

“The SafeBook is based on a Via C7-M processor clocked at
1.5GHz. It has 512MB of RAM, and boots its thin-client OS from
512MB of flash. The lack of a hard drive increases data security
and device life expectancy, while the lack of local applications
decreases operating expenses, according to the vendor…”
