Times Online: The End of the (Free) Pipe Dream?

computer–the newest version of Linux boots in only a few
seconds–start up Firefox 4 and log in to the BBC News website to
put on the morning bulletin while you rummage in the cultery drawer
for a spoon.

“Normally, the video over your newly installed 32 megabit
broadband connection is super-smooth. However, this morning,
newscaster Chantelle Houghton’s face looks like a Monet slideshow,
the audio is distorted and choppy, and the stream occasionally
freezes entirely for several seconds…”
