Tonight LIVE on www.thelinuxshow.com

At 6pm pst, 7pm rmt, 8pm cst, and 9pm east…. Kevin Hill, Jeff
Gerhardt, PJ Hyett, Doc Searls(Linux Journal), and Arne Flones have
another great show lined up tonight on The Linux Show!!

In Segment One – Hot News: We will have an
expanded news segment this week and as usual will be covering the
hot Linux news of the week. In Segments Two- Jabber in the
news:

We will be joined by Andre Durand , founder of the
Jabber Project. We will discus the success that Jabber has had in
the last couple months following the release of the Jabber
Commercial Server.

The Jabber Commercial Server (or JCS) v2.0 provides a scalable
IM platform for the corporation capable of handling over 200,000
concurrent users. The server supports multiple CPU/server
configurations; advanced and custom user authentication methods;
opt-in user presence control; hidden IPs for users; and of course
text messaging, including conferencing and store-and-forward
features. In addition to its overall functionality, the Jabber
Server architecture supports the development and implementation of
plug-in gateways providing the ability to communicate with other IM
services (Yahoo, MSN, AIM, etc.) or RSS news feeds.

In Segments Three- SuSe Goes to School:
Joining us tonight will be Dirk Hohndel and Jay
Migliaccio
from SuSE Linux. SuSE Linux announced last
Wednesday SuSE’s Free Linux Program for US High
Schools.
Administrators, IT specialist or teachers of
computer science at secondary educational institutions are invited
to participate in the program immediately. The announcement is part
of an ongoing campaign to make open source computing the IT
standard for operating systems and applications worldwide.
Initially, SuSE will sponsor more than 2,000 boxes of SuSE Linux
throughout US public and private high schools.

Other opinions are welcome at GeekCast. If you would like to
join us on the show, check our IRC Chat
(irc.thelinuxshow.com #linuxshow).

Remember tune in at 6pm pst, 7pm rmt, 8pm cst, and 9pm est.
