In Segments Two- the Open-Source Directory :-
What up with this new Open-Source Portal and what does it do that
is not out there already.
We will be joined by Steve Mallett, cofounder of
the website. With a home base of Moncton, Canada; Open-Source
Directory (OSD), launched their new website,
www.opensourcedirectory.org on April 5, 2001, as a new resource for
users to easily search for and find a stable open-source
application and its corresponding meta-data.
We will discuss how this new portal will fit in and fill the
voids of OSDN products SourceForge and Freshmeat, as well as others
such as Binary Freedom. Hey its tough to find a niche these
days……..
In Segments Three – LUG Fest IV! A favorite
annual event returns.
We will be joined by Gareth Greenaway ,of the
Simi-Conejo Linux Users Group, to discuss plans for LUGFest
IV on April 21st and 22nd, 2001, in Simi Valley,
California.
LUGFest is a great opportunity for you to see Linux users demo
Linux (or other Open Source operating systems), Linux applications,
attend seminars, and BOF (Birds Of a Feather) sessions. IT is
recognized as one of the best events in the US each year
