The linux knowledge base
is looking for topic moderators to enhance and promote the
site.

Moderators are people who help take the Linux kb to the next
level. a moderator is someone who is well versed in the subject
area that he or she is moderating, and is willing to spend one to
four hours a week helping maintain, enhance, and promote their
portion of the linux knowledge base.

Moderators work with specific topics, such as printing or
working with ISP’s. they have control over the database that
contains their topic’s information and can add and change it to a
fine degree. they are given access to statistics, including how
popular their resources are and how many clickthroughs their topics
have.

In return for their time and talents, moderators are given
recognition on their topic’s page and exposure related to the
amount of success their efforts produce. Moderators are asked to
spend one to four hours a week on their topic, and must attend a
90-minute irc training session.

To apply to be a moderator, go to the page of the topic you wish
to moderate, and see if the moderation position is available. If it
is, click on the sign up here link to apply to be
a moderator. approval usually takes one to three days.

There are approximately 30 unfilled positions. Topics are listed
on the linuxkb main page.
an example of a page with a moderator in place is our dns page; an example of
one without a moderator is our modem page. more
information about moderation is available on our moderator page.
