Absolute Linux is based on Slackware and IceWM and with that offers users a light weight customization of Slackware Linux with a few admin tools thrown in. Slackware and Absolute haven’t had a stable release in over two years and 14.2 is starting to feel a bit dated so I decided to try the latest snapshot from Absolute’s testing directories and update in batches to keep in line with Slackware current development. It works well and provides me with a near bleeding edge system that is low on resources requirements, typically around 180 MB at startup. This is a good way to keep up to date with Slackware current.
